Learning Disability Week 2009 : 22nd - 26th June

There is a raft of activities taking place in Ealing to mark Learning Disability Week this year, all taking place between Monday 22nd and Friday 26th June 2009.

MONDAY 22nd JUNE *** TWO EVENTS! ***


  • CAMPAIGN SESSION FROM THE POWER GROUP
  • 11.30am - 2.30pm
  • St. Andrew's Church, Mount Park Road, Ealing

    An event highlighting serious issues surrounding people with learning disabilities and their quality of life. There will be information on the Changing Places Toilets campaign, including a chance to sign the petition to have a Changing Places toilet installed at Ealing Hospital.

    There will also be information about the Death By Indifference campaign for equal healthcare for people with learning disabilities.

    There will also be a talk from Elsa Grigg on the Treat Me Right! campaign on health care too.

    Lunch will be served at 1.00pm.

  • LUNCH AT CARLTON ROAD

    There will be another lunch held at Carlton Road for service users and their families. For more information please call 020 8995 7186.

  • TUESDAY 23rd JUNE

  • HEALTH & WELL-BEING DAY
  • 10.00am - 3.00pm
  • St. Andrew's Church, Mount Park Road, Ealing

    A range of services will be attending to offer tips, advice and information on health issues.

    The event is being organised by the Partnership Board's "Better Health" group, and for more information please call them on 020 8566 2360.

  • WEDNESDAY 24th JUNE

  • COFFEE MORNING
  • 11.00am
  • Stirling Road Day Centre, Acton

    A coffee morning to meet and discuss the range of summer activities available for service users. For more information, please call 020 8893 6283.

  • THURSDAY 25th JUNE

  • DVD SCREENING - "DON'T LOOK AWAY"
  • 10.30am - 12.00pm
  • Ealing Carer's Centre, South Ealing Road

    A chance to watch Don't Look Away, a very professional and moving film produced by Hammersmith & Fulham Mencap, focusing on the lives of three profoundly disabled young adults in that borough. There will be an informal discussion afterwards as well as tea and biscuits available.

  • FRIDAY 26th JUNE - *** THREE EVENTS! ***

  • BLOOMING GREAT TEA PARTY!
  • 1.30pm - 3.00pm
  • Cowgate Day Centre, Greenford

    All are welcome to come along and join in the fun, including folk dancing, tea and cakes. Entry is Ј2.00, which will be donated to Marie Curie Cancer Care. For more info call 020 8575 9100.


  • VALUE LIFE FUN DAY
  • 3.30pm - 9.30pm
  • Enterprise Lodge, Stockdove Way, Perivale

    A fun packed day at Enterprsie Lodge will kick off at 3.30pm with fun, games and sports activities, before food and refreshments at 5.00pm. There will also be a raffle and then the main event at 7.00 - a disco from DJ Markel until 9.30pm.

    The day costs Ј12.00 for the full programme, and all proceeds will be donated to the Leonard Cheshire "School 4 All" in Africa project.

    The seminar on the health needs of people with profound and multiple disabilities has had to be postponed, but will take place at 11.30am on Monday 13th July at the Carers Centre, South Ealing Road.

    Добрый день всем посетителям этого прекрасного блога. Хочу внести и свой вклад в целую историю положительных отзывов. Как и все остальные пользователи этого блога, я полностью доволен абсолютно всем (что бывает очень редко, т. К. По профессии я педагог в институте). Скорость работы, навигация, условно понятый и красивый и целое море положительной информации – моя любимая обстановка.
