The lives of more than 1000 adults and 400 children with learning disabilities and their carers depend on the quality of the service and the voice we provide.  Through our work, we positively impact the lives of hundreds and enable them to live brighter and more fulfilling lives.

We provide support, advices, activities, empowering projects and employment to people with learning disabilities and take on a holistic approach as families are also central to the services we offer.  Today you can make the decision to be a part of an organisation that lets you lead the way in what you do best for the greater good. There are many ways you can join the organisation and be actively involved. You will find below how you can do so.

Why Work for Ealing Mencap?

To be able to help people in the best way we can, we are continually improving the way we work, enabling staff and volunteers to express their ideas and opinions openly and take initiative thanks to a transparent and empowering culture.  Ealing Mencap is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment

We have been awarded the Investors In People award in April 2011 and here are a few comments the auditors reported:

“I really do feel valued”

One manager commented, “I do not have all the answers, so it is listening to the staff, bringing out their skills that matters. Supervision is key”

“It’s a very transparent culture”

“Autonomy, they trust you, very empowering”

“I feel really involved”

“People are very committed to the purpose of Ealing Mencap and meeting the needs of the service users. They value highly the opportunity to influence these services and develop their own ideas as to how these can be improved. Many examples were given which included, starting a women’s group, developing new training session within the Step project, an intensive approach to travel training…”         - Investors In People report April 2011
