MAY 5TH AND “HANDS OFF HELLER”
Apart from another outbreak of foot and mouth it is agreed that the election is definite. After having asked the parliamentary candidate at your door her or his take on the Iraqi war move to a key local issue and ask about Heller House. Do they think it is acceptable that children with disabilities should be deprived of their lovely big garden? Do they appreciate that there is an increase in numbers of children with severe disabilities and the need for their parents to have a break from time to time increases. Do they know that the consultation process was a shambles (leaflets sent to Heller House for circulation never went out and that......
I realise its been quite some time since I wrote in the newsletter and there have been many things happening with the project that I’d like to share with you. Some of the news I want to share will be for the people that use the project, as well as general news too.
The project itself has changed so much, since I took it over in January 2000 and my job has too!
It’s taken a long time to get this far and yet ...

Everyone agreed we had a great AGM with many service users coming up to the microphone and telling us about their achievements. We were able to thank the Mayor for making us one of his charities this year...
ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING WED. 28TH SEPTEMBER, CELEBRATING FORTY YEARS OF EALING MENCAP, MEDALS AT THE SPECIAL OLYMPICS AND THE PURCHASE OF ENTERPRISE LODGE
Everyone, members and friends, is invited to our AGM 7.00 for 7.30 with coffee, coke or a glass of wine depending on your taste.
Please come and hear what people have achieved and rest assured that the dull AGM stuff will take just a few moments. Although we will be telling you about the Olympics and the acquisition of Enterprise Lodge, you will also get to hear about a range of our activates for our service users, including travel training achievements and all the excellent work done by the Partnership group in influencing the way services are delivered in Ealing.
