Ealing Mencap is an independent and local Charity that provides a variety of services and projects to help children and adults with learning disabilities to achieve their full potential. We have been operating for over 50 years and help over 2000 people each year.

Our Change Lives campaign will run throughout 2018 and seeks to not only raise awareness of the challenges faced by people with learning disabilities, but also to encourage everyone in our community to take social action and help make Ealing a great place for people with learning disabilities to live and achieve their personal goals.

Enabling young people of Ealing to become involved in our campaign is really important to us. We are writing to every school in the Borough to raise awareness and to invite them to hold a Non-School Uniform Day in support of Ealing Mencap. All pupils taking part will be asked to make a £1 donation to our Charity, but if they or their families wished to contribute more this would be more than welcome.

We are suggesting that the Non-School Uniform Day takes place between 19th and 23rd February as this is also National Student Volunteering Week, however if this is not practical for you and the pupils we would be happy for your event to be held on an alternative date.
